The B2 is bad as hell, and incredibly, unbelievably expensive.

Are we supposed to see that?

I had the same thought. This will be nice to watch but an exceedingly large waste of money. Is a fly over of a sports game, of any level, really worth $135,000? (Cost for one hour of flight time in 2010.)

Since they have to fly a certain number of hours to keep current on the type it isn't really wasted money. Instead of flying over the desert/ocean/mountains somewhere they just do the flight over a major sporting event. Chalk it up as a promotional tool plus flying that was going to be done anyway and it could be seen as being cheaper than a standard training flight.

Interesting point. I'll remember that.

There is an awesome post about an F-86 flypast by ttyymmnn . Obviously a lot more goes on in a formation fly past than a single ship flyby, but there is still a lot of things to account for. It isn't an accident that they show up at just the right moment, it is planned to the second when they will show up over the stadium. That is pretty good practice for a bombing run on a point target.
